Sorry there hasn't been much happening on this site for a long time.
I will be holding a fundraiser early on in the new year to raise some money for the Sons of Thunder Clinic in Livingstone, which is also very short of basic equipment!
I am heading back out to Zambia in March 2009 where hopefully I will be working in Livingstone Hospital and The Sons of Thunder Clinic as well as in the community. I hope to carry out as much equipment as possible.
Thanks to everyone that has donated equipment or money, it has been very warmly received!

Be watching for a fundraiser party in January 2009 as we continue to raise funds for the pediatric patients at Livingstone General and Batoka Hospital. More information will come closer to the date!
I am sending out a parcel to Livingstone General, and to the Livingstone community care groups in the next couple of weeks! If anyone has anything they would like to donate, please let me know.
I am also heading out to Tanzania in a couple of weeks and can take some things out then.
Anything would be warmly recieved including out of date equipment.
Thanks!
A huge thank you for anyone that came to Bindi's first fundraiser!!
I was amazed at how much effort everyone put into making their costumes (which was fancy dress beginning with 'S'). I'll hopefully get some photos up in the next couple of weeks!
The party raised a total of £380 for Bindi, so thank you so much for your donations!
Some of you may remember the Superheroes party I held last year in Revolution, raising £1000 for Oxfam. Well this year I have decided to hold another charity party as an end of exam/goodbye 5th year night of fun and frolics!
The party will be at Ikon in Newcastle-under-lyme (the former Tube), from 8.30pm-2pm on Thursday 22nd May-that is four weeks tomorrow.
There are lots of drink offers:
Bottles of VK, Fosters, Strongbo £1-75
Pint of Fosters/John Smiths £2-30
Corkies/Sours £1 shot
Doubles £1 extra
Double Vodka+Red Bull £3-95
2 Coctails £6-50
3 Shooters £5
I've been back in the UK 6weeks now and I'm already planning my next trip to Africa, this time visiting Uganda and Tanzania with one of my friends (thanks lara!). Although Tanzania and Uganda attracts many tourists each year-The CIA World Factbook has estimated the GDP per capita to be $1,100 in both countries (its $35,300 in the UK), and the life expectancy is approximately 50years. We are going after our finals unfortunately only for 3 weeks. Although going for a holiday we will be going out to local hospitals, clinics, home-based care teams, orphanages, schools and the community.

According to the World Health Organization, roughly 33.2 million people worldwide are living with HIV/AIDS. It's a staggering statistic, especially when you stop to consider that an estimated 22.5 million of those cases are concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa.
It's taken me a while to get round to this but just wanted to thank Pete White for designing this website and the Logo for Bindi Just Health in his own personal time. The logo is being used both on this website and for all our official documents so thanks Pete, I really appreciate it. Pete is also Kindly hosting Bindi Just Health via his own website, www.imafish.co.uk
I arrived back in the UK yesterday after spending an amazing 8 weeks in Livingstone, Zambia.
Zambia is a land-locked south central African country and has a popultion of approximately 11,261,795 (jul 2005). It has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, and life expectancy is a mear 38years. The HIV rate was estimated to be about 16.5% (in 2003) in the whole of Zambia, but is probably a lot higher in Livingstone due to its proximity to the borders of Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana thus increasing traffic-it is known to have a high level of prostitution.
