Bindi Just Health in Uganda and Tanzania

I've been back in the UK 6weeks now and I'm already planning my next trip to Africa, this time visiting Uganda and Tanzania with one of my friends (thanks lara!). Although Tanzania and Uganda attracts many tourists each year-The CIA World Factbook has estimated the GDP per capita to be $1,100 in both countries (its $35,300 in the UK), and the life expectancy is approximately 50years. We are going after our finals unfortunately only for 3 weeks. Although going for a holiday we will be going out to local hospitals, clinics, home-based care teams, orphanages, schools and the community. We are currently using our contacts to negotiate extra baggage allowance so that we can take out as many donations as possible.

We'd be really grateful if you have any clothes, shoes, hair bands, stationary, educational books, toys, beakers/bottles or medical equipment...basically anything at all...to donate. We'll be sure to post photos of exactly where your donations are going-now thats something most charities can't say!

I know it's a big effort to hunt things down, but the people that we are going out to see really have very little, many people I visited in Zambia were lucky to get more than one bowl of Sheema in a day, let alone have shoes, or pens for their children to study. The most valuable items I took to Zambia other than my medical stock, were pens, crayons, anything that children could use to study.

I really hope that you can help-no donation is too small!!

Thanks =)
